Silo Season 2

The communication goals for the season 2 design campaign for the Apple TV+ show Silo were to center star Rebecca Ferguson, suggest new plot elements, and elevate the series beyond its SF genre. I took over the project in mid-stream and under my direction we refined and locked the art suite, and adapted it for use in app, across platforms and in a robust media buy.  A particular challenge for this season was the fact that the story takes place in two separate silos and the hero was separated from most of the cast for the entire season. Silo fans were very interested in the glimpse of the world outside the silo that ended season 1, so for our teaser we gave them a better look while hinting at plot elements they would recognize.  The hero art highlights Ferguson’s character, Juliette, as the central figure with the composition and additional elements suggesting her role as the inspiration for an uprising in her original silo. Water plays a new role in season 2, so we evolved our palette to include cooler colors and water elements.  Our secondary art leaned more heavily into Juliette’s experience in the second, largely abandoned, silo and the role that water and submersion play in here story.   Finally, we were tasked with creating a piece that could bring in some ensemble, without looking too staid or traditional. Rebecca was also an EP on the series and had one direction. “Just make it awesome and cool”.   We were very happy with the result and proud that the production team requested printed versions for the whole crew.   Silo Season 2 debuted very strong as the highest performing returning season on the platform to that point.
